Photo Date: September 2013
It was my first Langtang Trek back in 2013 when I was 19 years old. I remember looking towards the Langtang valley from the Shivapuri Peak and always wanted to go there and there I was. The valley was green throughout and had a lot of hotels and people around. We stopped at a hotel called Lucky Guest House and started talking to the owner. His son was actually studying in Kathmandu and he said he would be coming down for a visit later during the year. I gave him my number and said if he needs any help when he is there to let me know. He offered us coffee and didn't charge us. After leaving the hotel we walked towards Kyanjin. We had started our walk from Ghoda Tabela that day. And then I looked on my left. A waterfall flowing down from the hills that surrounded the valley. It was very majestic and the rock surfaces were shining almost as if they had a mirror polish. I stopped and had to take a photo of that waterfall.
This was before the 2015 earthquake which completely destroyed the valley. The entire hill came loose and the whole valley was covered in the debris leaving nothing but one single house at the edge of this mighty hill. The guesthouse was gone and so was the entire greenery of the valley. I went to Langtang again in 2016. Walking past this place felt very weird. And this waterfall had completely transformed.
